Physical activity is more than weight loss. It encourages the growth of new brain cells, increases oxygen flow to your brain, boosts neurotrophic factors, which help new nerve cells to thrive and increase the neurotransmitters in your brain that play a vital role in cognition.It’s a great idea to vary your workout routines. If you’re a walker, try taking different pathways everyday rather than using the same path day after day. If you’re a gym rat, try alternating your gym workouts with a squash or a tennis session. Remember that just doing these brain exercises will not be so effective if you don’t combine them with physical exercise.
